What is Sacramento Splash?Posted on: 2007-03-13Sacramento Splash is a place-based, watershed education program jointly sponsored by a consortium of water agencies in Sacramento County: the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District, the City of Sacramento Department of Utilities, and the Sacramento County Department of Water Resources. The Splash program provides opportunities for Sacramento County students and their families to explore the diversity of life in our local aquatic ecosystems, including vernal pools (elementary curriculum) and streams (high school curriculum). Through their studies in the classroom and in the field, students learn the importance of water quality and how they can improve water habitats where they live.

We hope to determine if having these types of proteins and fats in your blood can be a risk factor for heart disease.
Who can participate:
• We will be recruiting 100 African-American
families and 100 Caucasian families
• Each family will have 2 natural parents and 2
natural off-spring over the age of 6.
What will participants have to do?
• We will ask you to come to the VA at Mather
for a study visit
• We will draw your blood (approximately 4
teaspoons)
• We will ask you about your medical history
• We will perform a physical exam
• We will compensate each participant $50 for
his/her time and travel
